I enjoyed 'Columbo' and I am enjoying 'Poker Face.' I am watching it on Peacock streaming. The writing is mostly very clever and some humorous things are always included. I like Natasha Lyonne but had only seen her in 'OITNB' and she is perfect for the role here. Like the old 'Columbo' we witness the crime relatively early and we see how she uses her inquisitiveness to sort out what really happened. Also a crime is committed, most often a murder. Each episode has her stopping somewhere and due to circumstances spending a few days there.
When someone tells her something untruthful she detects it, and often spontaneously responds in a quiet voice, '(full BS word).' So early in the first episode she gets into hot water with some crooked gamblers and goes on the run in her beat up car. Although she is not a detective, like Columbo was, Charlie (Natasha Lyonne) has a unique and unfailing talent.
No one familiar with the old 'Columbo' TV series can miss the similarity.
